the bobby donny label hits number four with a first ep of 2016. after efforts from label owner frits wentink and eindhoven producer san2, this one comes from tlim shug. the low-profile american producer has only one ep to his name so far, but it was an impressive one that came on echovolt records last year and suggested he has a passion for moody and lo-fi deep house.

what�s on help008? mainly music from the arhus-boy dj sports. it�s sort of a debut, but sports has released a bunch of tracks on regelbau and help over the past years, solo + with his groups maizena, sportscentral and lester. this young sensible producer initiates the release with the breaky hidden spheres that has a cool piano. next another leftwing original from sports. this one, with it�s flute, breakbeat, confident synth chords and beautiful minor nature is a favourite of mr. sports parents. this one is our favorite, his parents. if we haven�t lost you so far, the flipside contains a timeman dance version with more danceability, hook and playing time than the original version of the bridge that was released on the tape sportscentral. last but not least you get an alternative version of that get-in-touch-with-your-inner-passion/synthesizer-melody-rythmical-ambient-track mindless turns, that also originally appeared on the aforementioned tape. we hope you ll like our new record, that, if on repeat, might provide you hours and hours of by-yourself enjoyment.

despite the renewed interest in music from kenyas past, finding these tracks and their rights holders hasnt become any easier. only a handful of music archives around the world harbour collections of kenyan music, and just a few private collectors in kenya and abroad have been sharing catalogue info online or privately. one of the problems with east african music of this era is that much of it was originally released only on 45 rpm, seven-inch vinyl singles, many of which were only ever produced in tiny runs of a few hundred. 45s with their thin, paper sleeves do not age as well as lps and are often far more susceptible to the elements

flumos mainstay ekkohaus returns, this time bringing a full-bodied package for the dance floor. suitably, far fetcher acts as a warm welcome, inviting the listener inside its richly deep analogue soundscapes, reminiscent of deeper sides of classic house rhythms that have come from the usa. its pace provides a perfect way to start off the ep while the synth-vocal creates a soulful depth. things get darker and more aggressive with musketeers, a dub-heavy rhythm that drives one to involuntary movement due to its relentless repetition and & subtle swing. the amalgamation of the synth along with the pulsating sub invigorates one to move and bounce along with these elements. fantasy provides the penultimate party vibe. it s funkiness transcends & the melodies drive the vocals to the extent of ecstasy. rounding off the ep 64 bars features vocals by arthur russel, the synth inflicted break progressions capture the vibe of ekkohaus live sets with its haunting chants hinting towards techno and while its warmth never escapes.

with noblesse oblige you find yourself among the aristocracy of the mind and body� it is a gathering of artists with a different heartbeat and mindset� fitting the gooiland elektro spirit as they operate far away from contemporary music standards� not being interested nor moved by trends and hypes� instead they share the mission to produce uncompromising sounds for the real freaks with music both for the dancefloor and the headphone� in this case this means sweaty ebm, dark techno and industrial acid� but that are just some name tags� it is all about the experience�

d3 elements continues to mine the fertile soil of midwest inspired house, techno and electro with this fantastic new album from michael dykehouse (sometimes found turning out experimental fare on planet mu and ghostly). here the grooves are immediate and engaging across nine tracks, from the bubbly -meltdown morning- to the spooked-out -clock division-, touching on a range of styles all bound together by a commitment to classic drum machine beats and synthesiser tones. this is far from a throwback record though, instead celebrating dykehouse s innate musicality through all manner of tempos and moods and coming out as a well-rounded long player in the process.

light in the attic reissues their impossible to find 1969 album, originally out on third world recordings ! 5 on kurt cobains top 50 favorite albums. philosophy of the world is a collection of garage rock tunes that balanced charm and discordance in equal measure. in 1968, three sisters from fremont, new hampshire strapped on their instruments and declared themselves the shaggs. at that moment begun a peculiar tale that would last far beyond the groups five-year run. dot, betty and helen (and occasionally rachel, the fourth sister) played in the group on the insistence of their father, austin wiggin jr., who was convinced they were going to be big. years earlier, austins mother gave him a palm reading, predicting that her son would marry a strawberry blonde woman, that he would have two sons after his mother died, and that his daughters would form a popular music outfit. the first two became reality, so austin was certain the third would follow suit.

humanoid x is cpus deepest foray into detroit techno so far, from blixaboy aka mwanza dover texas based artist, friend of cygnus and very much part of the local electro scene. dover presents an album influenced by the pioneers of the hypnotic groove. on first pass you�ll find elements of krautrock through to the belleville three, all with finely crafted arrangements that reveal themselves in more detail on each listen. a cyberpunk theme runs throughout as blade runner-esque synths wash over the album evoking late night electric-city noodle restaurant contemplation. blixaboy has selected 4 of the more dj friendly tracks from the album for the vinyl e.p. treatment.

when la label acid test decided to start the leftfield imprint, avenue 66, they looked to new jersey house mystic joey anderson for an opening salvo. he delivered the modern psych-dance masterpiece above the cherry moon. now andersons back again with more of his beguiling dreamlogic. on if one cares, they act different anderson works with a lead that could score an unsettling 80s horror flick, eventually introducing his signature quicksilver synths and abstract, jacking drum patterns. peace there starts with the square-wave basslines and raspy hats taking us to a psychedelic far away place. on the vase, anderson reins things in, but even his bittersweet, relatively straight-head deep house tracks present an odd paradox. his music so alien and human all at once.

see that man on a far off hill, working his dog while attempting to find shelter from the howling wind and driving rain? that��s the crooked man, the very antithesis of the modern dance music producer. he lives a simple life, dragging his world�, weary soul across the moors in an endless bid to escape the fallout from 30 years spent at the forefront of sheffield��s electronic music scene. once regarded as one of the steel city��s greatest selectors, he now admits to being gripped by fear at the idea of djing, and refuses to spend any time in nightclubs.

desolat label boss loco dice is back with what is sure to be a massive autumn package: he has remixed the seminal dance track �go� by the legendary moby, twice, and has made it all his own in the process. moby needs little introduction: the american dance producer and live performer�s albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. they have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. his �go� track was what started it all for him back in the 90�s, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. it still resonates today and always gets crowds going. now it has been remixed twice by loco dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion. his first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown. the second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. this one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night. both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight loco dice.
